SCHOOL SUPPORT

The School Support Team has had an incredibly impactful year! One of the most powerful accomplishments was the significant improvement in student drug test results at one of the schools we serve. After our services were provided, every single student passed their drug test, including those who had previously been failing.

Even more meaningful were the lunch hangout sessions we facilitated. These safe spaces allowed students to openly share deeply personal concerns - from worries about their families to questions about finding their life purpose. Through these discussions, we were able to be "light bringers" for the students, showing up with empathy and establishing an uplifting tone.

The students felt inspired and filled with hope, as they were given valuable tools to overcome pressures and discover their identities. One particularly impactful activity was when we provided students with a worksheet divided into four sections: Be, Do, Have, Help. The students each listed three things in each column, and it was incredibly powerful to see students who had never before contemplated how they might want to positively impact others, now dreaming about helping the homeless, supporting animals, and making a difference in the lives of their peers.

This year, the School Support Team truly showed up for the students, providing them with the guidance, resources, and encouragement they needed to envision brighter futures and take steps towards realizing their full potential. It has been an incredibly rewarding and transformative year. Our Hope Outcomes Scale assesses the percentage of students positively influenced by our School Support Program. This scale evaluates key outcomes, including students' sense of purpose, identity, hope, and their understanding of addiction and other challenges they may face. By focusing on these critical areas, we gain valuable insights into the program's effectiveness and its impact on fostering resilience and growth among students.
